Cat Grooming
Hello!! Kitty Tips is back after a lot of days.
So today's topic is GROOMING A CAT.
You must have seen cats sitting in the corner of your house and continuously licking its fur. This is self-grooming. Even though cats spent enough time for grooming THEMSELVES, Grooming a cat (by us, humans) is very essential. But these cats, don't know about that. Let me tell you all the advantages of grooming a cat.
- Grooming removes all the dirt as well as the loose hair from the cat's coat: Loose hair creates itching and disturbs the cat
- It helps in keeping the coat healthy.
- It reduces shedding.
- Keeps the number of fleas in check.
- It helps the coat to dry faster after bathing a cat.
- The cat's coat has a particular amount of natural oil. Grooming helps in the even distribution of these natural oil and maintains the coat's health.
- Grooming is very essential for long-haired cats because lack of grooming can lead to knots and tangles which in turn results in the formation of mats.
- It helps to detect any skin diseases/ abnormalities.
- The more you Brush your cat's coat, the less hair she will swallow.
- The time you spent on grooming strengthens the bond between you and your cat.
- Fleas can hide in them and make it difficult for you to find them.
- Cats may, accidentally, rip their skin by chewing/ tearing the tangles or mats.
- These can block the entry/ the flow of air through their coats. This can result in wounds or skin diseases.
So, Grooming has a lot of advantages indeed. But it should be done in the right manner:
- LESS TIME--MORE BETTER:
Cats usually do not find grooming as a very fascinating time-pass. It is better to groom your cat a few minutes a day (if she is long-haired) or 2-3 days a week (if she is short-haired).
- USING THE RIGHT TOOLS IN THE GOOD MANNER:
Well, that's all for this blog.
